Lilly was welcomed into the world last week by her parents, whom you might recognize from their maternity session last month. She is so sweet! She’s a little girl after her mom’s own heart- she already LOVES electric blankets! Needless to say she wasn’t the biggest fan of the diaper shots, but was such a little trooper regardless. Congrats again Ben and Annie!!
Last week my husband and I travelled down to the Miami, Florida area to visit some of our friends. In the near future, our friends will be temporary guardians for a little baby from Haiti in need of medical care. Our friends, the Gemmens, will be caring for her after the surgery as she recovers. You can find out more details on facebook here.
So while we were visiting, we did a little photography benefit for this cause. It was so much fun shooting with palm trees in the background and not snow. 🙂 Malena and her family were so sweet and fun to work with! Thanks for supporting Sonia! Enjoy the preview!
This little stud is Asa. He is one of the happiest little kids I know! His mommy wanted to get some photos of him to send to his daddy who is serving overseas in the military. He was deployed shortly after Asa was born. I am praying for your family through this time and also for a reunion soon! In the meantime, enjoy the photos! He is a little HUNK!
This little peanut is Molly. She is the newest addition to a family you may have seen on my blog in the past. She is the sweetest thing EVER! I love little babies! Her parents are good friends of mine from college, and her daddy is an AMAZING videographer (He did our wedding). So for all you future brides reading this, check him out at www.deependfilms.com. 🙂
I can’t believe how quickly my little nephew is growing up! He seems so much older than 3 months! He has such a mellow personality…the complete opposite of his very rambunctious sister, Emma. 🙂 They are both so sweet!!
Last weekend, Austin came over for his 1 year photo session. He is such a happy little guy…and very busy! I just love his big blue eyes!!
Kaitalyn will be 2 years old this coming July and is going to be a big sister VERY soon! We also had to get a few pics of mom’s cute baby bump while we were at it too!! I love it! I cannot wait until I’m able to post some pics of Kaitalyn’s baby brother on here! Enjoy the preview!
This little guy was just 9 months. He really, REALLY would have rather been sleeping than posing for pictures, but he was such a little trooper! I think my favorite part of doing theses sessions is watching what the mom and dad come up with to make their kid smile. Whatever Travis and Marcy were doing certainly worked- his smile is PRECIOUS!! Enjoy!
I just wanted to fill everyone in on what my husband and I have been up to lately. If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you might remember that we went on a trip to Mozambique, Africa last year. One of the organizations we worked with was Audio Scripture Ministries (ASM). They are based out of Holland, MI, and their mission is to bring the Word of God to the illiterate people throughout the world. They do this through recording translated Scripture onto little audio players and distributing them around the globe. (For more info about their ministry, visit www.asmtoday.org.)
ASM actually has a studio in Xai-Xai, Mozambique (the area that we worked in). The needs for a ministry like this in that area are HUGE! More than half of the population is illiterate and these players may be their first encounter with the Word of God. ASM is struggling to keep up with the demand for these players. Jamison and I have fallen in love with this ministry and were super excited when our friend approached us with this opportunity:
ASM has prayerfully decided to expand their studio space in Mozambique and they asked us if we would be willing to head up the fundraising campaign for this project, as well as organize teams to go and build the studio. This was exactly the kind of opportunity we were praying for!! So we’ve been busy trying to get the word out through our fundraising campaign, ‘One Brick at a Time’. Please visit our site about the project at www.asmtoday.org/onebrick and ‘like’ us on facebook!!
Now for the fun part….. Parkhurst Chiropractic and Lakeshore Wellness Center in Holland are partnering with us for the month of March. For the remainder of the month, they are offering $10 off their one hour massages (trust me- they are REALLY good!!) AND $10 of each massage purchased gets donated to One Brick at a Time!!! All you have to do is mention ‘Massages for Mozambique’ when scheduling, or bring in the coupon below. Please spread the word for us! Let’s get people massaging for Mozambique!! Thanks!!

I had to laugh about this engagement session with Mitch and Jordan. When we were coming up with a date, we specifically chose mid-February to ensure that we would have snow for their session. And what do you know, we chose the one weekend in February after the massive thaw that left absolutely no snow left on the ground! Then the next day we get like 6 inches!! Go figure…at least downtown Holland is still photogenic without snow. I think we did more laughing than photographing during this session and I had a great time getting to know Mitch and Jordan better. I cannot wait until their wedding in October!!
