Ross and Jessica tied the knot on what turned out to be another rainy Saturday. They were a little bummed about the rain since we were planning on all outdoor photos, but their wedding day was still beautiful. Their reception was so much fun, too! I love seeing all of the different things that people come up with at their receptions. They had a photo booth- this was the first time I’d been at a wedding with one and was so excited. So of course, I dragged my second shooter, Marc, into the photo booth with me and we got in on all of the fun too! Ross and Jessica had fun with a few of the props during their first dance as well.
Abby is going to be a senior this year at Hopkins High School. I work with her mom at the hospital. I traveled out to Dorr for these photos last week and was absolutely in love with the locations we went to! Having been raised more in the country, the longer I live in downtown GR, the more I miss the fields and wide open spaces. Anyways, Abby was so great to work with! She has the most breathtaking eyes EVER…I’m sure you’ll agree, too! Enjoy! 🙂
The Fisk family just recently welcomed a new member into their family! We had been planning this photo session since July, so I was super excited when he finally arrived and I was able to meet little Evan- and the rest of the family for that matter. 🙂 I hope you enjoy the preview!
Ryan and Leah are tying the knot next June, so we headed out a few weeks ago for their engagement session before their life gets crazy with college starting back up. Can’t wait till next summer! Enjoy the preview!
We had a beautiful day last week for these photos! I don’t think I’ve ever met an 8 year old who could pose as naturally as Makenna! She was such a model and fun to work with! And Eli did an awesome job with the pics as well…he even surprised his mom at how well he sat and smiled. And, if you read my post of the Gemmen family a few posts back, this session also ended with Eli falling into the water. It seems to be a common theme lately! And like I said earlier, what do you expect from a 4 year old boy? 🙂
Dan and Maria’s wedding was AWESOME! The weather couldn’t seem to make up its mind, though. What’s up with the rainy Saturdays this August? Anyways, after a beautiful ceremony at Calvin Seminary, we all headed over to Post Family Farms for the reception. When I told my husband about this reception, he was actually jealous that he wasn’t there. (If you know anything about my husband, that says a lot!) 🙂 We ate shish-kabobs catered from Sandmann’s and had an assortment of ice cream flurries. Delicious! And instead of dancing, they had a bunch of lawn games out for everyone to play. It was a great time! Even the goats got in on the fun! 🙂 Enjoy the preview!
It was so great to reconnect with our friends, the Gemmens, again. They moved to Miami over a year ago and were back up in Michigan last week on vacation. This session ended with both kids falling in the water and getting totally covered in mud! What else would you expect from a 2 and a 4 year old…especially the Gemmen boys? 🙂 Can’t wait to see you guys again soon! (they’re moving back!!)
Ryan and Kristen got married at Fred Meijer Gardens on August 6th. When they asked if I would photograph their wedding, I was thrilled to shoot at this venue! And I could not have asked for a better bride and groom! God certainly blessed us with a beautiful day…it poured all morning, but cleared up right before our pictures and the outdoor ceremony…and the sun even came out!! Ironically enough, rainy days are Kristen’s favorite! So it was just perfect!
Just a random side note, too…their wedding favors/placecards were my favorite! Ryan and Kristen actually hand made all of the ceremic pots for everybody (see the photo below). I thought that was so uniquely creative and a very nice personal touch. I have mine right by my computer in my office. 🙂 Your day was absolutely beautiful! So glad I could be part of it!!
This photo session was done all the way up in Howard City. The whole Hubers family got together for a vacation, conveniently located at their Grandma and Grandpa Hubers’ permanent residence right on a lake out there. What a beautiful setting! The whole family was so much fun and I think we did more laughing than picture taking! They have a great sense of humor…and Kaden would do just about anything to get a laugh out of everybody. 🙂 Thanks for a fun evening and enjoy the preview!!
Last week was a very special occasion for the Wing family. Steve and Martha celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary!!! Most of their immediate family gathered to witness them renew their wedding vows, and I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph it! The ceremony was beautiful…they did a really unique rendition of the unity candle, where every member of their family got to light their own candle off from the central candle. I am used to photographing newly married couples, basking in their newly married bliss, so it was cool to see that same spark of excitement on the Wing’s faces as they renewed their vows 40 years later. I loved it! I wish you guys many more years together and congratulations on the birth of your new grandson on your anniversary!
