Tsakani Studios

“Tsakani” (sock-ah-nee) is a word from a traditional African language spoken by the Shangaan people of southeastern Africa. Translated into English, it means ‘rejoicing’ or ‘happiness.’

I have had the opportunilty to serve in Mozambique, Africa, and am absolutely in love! If I had to describe the people there with one word, it would be joyful. The people I met were so filled with the joy of the Lord and were constantly rejoicing over even the smallest of His provisions (the things we take so for-granted here in America). They are such an inspiration to me for how to live me life each day- full of ‘tsakani’.

This is the mission of Tsakani Studios: to rejoice in the blessings of the Lord and the beauty of His creation. From the tiny fingers and toes of a newborn, to the loving embrace of a couple on their wedding day- all are blessings worth rejoicing! Thank you for allowing me to capture this beauty through the lens of my camera. I truly consider it a privilege.
